Terms of Service

These terms are between you and American Turf & Insulation Group LLC, doing business as FenceMates, and cover the jobs FenceMates contracts directly. Where our licenses page says a licensed partner contracts in your state, the partner's own service order sets the terms of your job.

Your price range and your locked price

The range shown online is an estimate from the fence you drew or the feet you typed. Your price is locked on the video walk-through and printed on the service order. It holds for 21 days.

Paying

You pay a deposit when you sign the service order. The deposit amount is shown on the service order you sign. The card you use is saved, with your consent on the order, for the balance. After the crew finishes, the balance is charged to that card 48 hours after we send you the completion photos, or as soon as you approve them. If you report a problem first, nothing is charged until it is resolved. Where a state's payment rules differ, your service order says so. In New York no deposit is taken and no card is saved: the full price is due after the work is finished, and we send you a secure payment link for it when you approve the completion photos, or 48 hours after we send them.

Property line

You mark the fence line and confirm it is on your property. We build where you mark. A survey is available for a fee if you are unsure; if you decline it, the location of the line is your responsibility.

Utilities (811)

We file the 811 utility locate at least two business days before digging. 811 marks public lines only. You must tell us about private lines: sprinklers, landscape lighting, propane, septic, invisible pet fence. Damage to undisclosed private lines is not our cost.

Permits and HOA

Where your city requires a permit we pull it and bill it at cost plus a $75 handling fee. You obtain HOA approval before scheduling; we supply the spec sheet and drawing. If your HOA declines, your deposit is refunded in full.

Rock, slope and change orders

The price assumes diggable soil. Post holes that hit rock or old concrete are $100 per hole, billed only with a photo from the crew and your approval by text before work continues. Slopes over the set grade are priced at 20% more on the affected feet, set on the video call. Nothing else is added without a written change order you approve in writing or by text. No verbal extras.

Weather and scheduling

Install dates move for frozen ground, heavy rain and high wind. A weather reschedule is not a breach of these terms.

Cancellation

Cancel within 3 business days of signing (5 business days if you are 65 or older in California) for a full refund of the deposit. After that, the deposit covers materials ordered and permit fees paid, and the rest is refunded.

Warranty

One year on installation workmanship and 90 days on repairs. We respond to a warranty request in writing within five business days. Storm damage, vehicle impact, ground movement and wood's natural checking are not covered; manufacturer defects go to the manufacturer's warranty, and we help you file.

Photos

The crew photographs the job before, during and after. The photos are part of your job record. We may use photos of the finished fence, with no house numbers or faces, on this site.
